Biography

Born in Transylvania after World War II to two Holocaust survivors, my art talent was noted at an early age and was encouraged by my father as a hobby and as an outlet for personal expression. Eventually, my parents and I emigrated to Israel, where I attended, on a full scholarship, a private high school geared towards children talented in the visual and performing arts. On graduating, I then became a student at the Art Institute in Tel Aviv.

I later moved to the United States, where art remained a hobby throughout the years. But, after some time, I decided to take it more seriously, and by making an income as a full charge bookkeeper, I paid my way through classes in different fields — drawing, painting, sculpting, etching, cermanics, graphic arts, interior design, and fashion design — learning from everyone and constantly exhibiting my work. I continued in those efforts until around the earaly 2000s, which is when my father died. Unresolved issues after his death made me seek out therapy.

As the years passed, that seemed to be going nowhere. In 2013, I made the decision to get back into my world of art, taking up painting again. That proved to be the better course, as it helped my work through my issues, and my life took a turn for the better.

Each of my paintings has a story to tell, though I recognize that my story is maybe different than the one of the viewer. With that in mind, I hesitate to put titles to my work; that leaves it for the viewer to interpret however they so choose — and all the better, since I appreciate their thought and input.
